“Hey! Thanks for checking out the page and supporting my music 😁

I’ve been a musician for as long as I can remember. I played around on the piano as a toddler, picked up the guitar when I was 8, the bass and drums at 12, and started tackling singing in 10th grade because we forgot to find a singer for our band in high school 😅

I used to design and test video games intermittently, so the name DEVIX comes from a character I used to reuse that was meant to resemble me, named Devi. DEVIX was always supposed to be an idea, a project, or a group, but after using it as a name to sign up with at an open mic in York, PA. People quickly started using it to address me, so the name kind of fell into place, and I’m totally okay with it.

I loved the concept of doing something different, playing as many different things as a I could in a live performance, so I started using a loop station and brought my whole rig with me. That led to me having a knack for putting different musical parts together. At some point, the loop station broke, unfortunately, and that led to me playing acoustically for quite some time, roughly a decade. A lot of people found interest in my slap percussion on guitar, so I ran with it.

Years passed as a live performer, some of my best days, and COVID hit and changed so much for all performers. I joined the rally to still “play live” by doing streamed concerts online to help breathe some life into isolation so much of us were dealing with. Live performances started happening in-person again, and I gave something a go that I wasn’t sure about.

In 2022, I spent half of my year on NBC’s The Voice (season 22), making it to the Top 13 on Team Camila. So much about this experience changed how I started to view the industry. My eyes opened up to the depth of what was possible, what I could achieve, the types of shows I could work on putting together down the line. I also broke out of my shell a bit, and that’s always been a tough battle. After this, I knew I had to finally put an album out and move to a place that would be better suited for my career path. So I announced I was working on an album, started learning real studio production, and followed it all up by moving to Nashville, TN.

Here we are a few years later coming to a finishing point on the album where all the pieces are starting to fall into place, and I could not be more grateful for all of those who have helped me achieve as much as I have. A ton of people helped crowdfund this dream as well, and that was monumentally essential to getting all of the gear needed to accomplish this task. Thank you to everyone listening, watching, supporting, and connecting. I feel like I’m still in the beginning phases, so follow @devixmusic to stay up to date with my progress and music - cheers!”
